Thoughtful Mother's Day Ideas

Mother’s Day isn’t just about Mothers—it’s about strong women in your life who have made a real difference and have played a role in defining who you are today. Think: Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts, Teachers, Neighbors, Religious Leaders, even a Boss at work.

On Mother’s Day, take the opportunity to honor the impact these women have had in your life—and don’t break the bank to do it.

Consider these great ideas to show honor and respect to these women. There is bound to be a perfect idea to showcase your gratitude.

Breakfast in bed. Why not start her day right and make breakfast—or bring over doughnuts or breakfast sandwiches? Waking him to a delicious thank you is pretty much an ideal way to start the day!

Do an activity together. How about creating a few memories? What does she love? What might she like to share with you? You could go on a walk or hike, bake a favorite family recipe or enjoy old photo albums together.

Have lunch. How about a picnic basket packed with goodies and spreading a blanket on the front lawn? Bring a speaker and enjoy her favorite music, reminisce and thank her for all she has done for you.

Do some chores. Take a look around the house or apartment. Pull weeds, plant flowers or fix that cabinet door. Sweat equity doesn’t cost a penny, but lending a hand makes a big difference.

Write her a note. Write her a note of thanks and send it in the mail. We live in a world of texting, which is convenient. But sending a note adds a sense of gratitude that simply can’t be found in a text or Facebook post.

Give her hug. A hug means so much. Let her know how much she matters to you.
